Flight operations at Dubai International Airport have been scaled back.

With strong winds and rain lashing Dubai and other emirates on Thursday (May 2), the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has suspended the operation of intercity buses. The suspension is expected to be lifted once the unstable weather clears. Meanwhile, the Dubai Municipality has dispatched personnel to manage traffic and help clear roads of water ponds debris. Flight operations at Dubai International Airport have been scaled back in response to the adverse weather. Emirates has cancelled several flights due to the weather conditions and advised travelers to anticipate delays and rescheduling of flights. “We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. Affected customers will be re-accommodated,” Emirates said in a statement. Budget airline flydubai also issued a similar statement, and urged travelers to allocated extra time for their journey to the airport, and to monitor their flight status on the airline website.
