Jebel Ali Metro Station, one of the busiest stations on the Dubai Metro Red Line, has officially been renamed National Paints Metro Station as part of a 10-year naming rights agreement announced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The Dubai Media Office confirmed the rebranding on Thursday (June 26), stating that the new station name will be reflected across all signage, metro maps, directional boards inside trains, onboard audio announcements, and RTA's smart applications. The rebranding process is already underway and will be implemented in phases through August to ensure a seamless transition for commuters. The move is part of the RTA’s innovative naming rights programme, launched in 2008—the first of its kind globally—which allows local and international companies to purchase naming rights for Dubai Metro stations for a period of up to 10 years. The program supports public-private partnerships while generating revenue to enhance Dubai’s public transport infrastructure. “The renaming of Jebel Ali Metro Station to National Paints Metro Station is another step in strengthening partnerships with leading companies in the UAE,” RTA said in a statement. “It highlights the value of strategic collaboration in enhancing the public transport sector.” Located in a high-traffic area in Jebel Ali, the newly renamed National Paints Metro Station serves thousands of daily commuters and businesses in the industrial and residential zones. This latest renaming follows the UAE Exchange Metro Station, which was recently renamed Life Pharmacy Metro Station in May under a similar 10-year agreement. That deal was finalized between Life Pharmacy Group and Hypermedia, with Mada Media serving as the official concessionaire appointed by the RTA. Currently, the RTA naming rights program covers 23 stations across two metro lines, offering companies premium branding opportunities in key locations based on commuter traffic, visibility, and commercial potential. Companies benefit from integrated marketing strategies and long-term visibility across the Dubai Metro network—one of the busiest and most advanced urban rail systems in the world. The RTA emphasized that the initiative not only supports transport innovation but also reinforces Dubai’s commitment to economic development and sustainable infrastructure through creative funding models. “Such partnerships reflect Dubai’s forward-thinking approach to infrastructure development and its drive to create meaningful collaborations between the public and private sectors,” the RTA added.
