Dubai residents can now get marriage licence in 24 hours
Effective February 1, non-Muslim residents getting married in Dubai will be able to get their marriage licence in just 24 hours. It is part of a new federal decree law regulating family matters for non-Muslim residents, which also allows the Dubai Courts to conduct a Civil Marriage for Non-Muslims service. Non-Muslims who qualify for a civil wedding in Dubai must be at least 21 years old, single, with at least one of them residing in Dubai. On February 1, the UAE began implementing a new federal law that covers marriage, divorce, child custody and inheritance of non-Muslim nationals and expatriates residing in the country.
