The RTA payment kiosk. RTA
Dubai residents can soon pay their traffic fines and renew their driving licenses in easy instalments, thanks to a new partnership between the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Tabby. This service will be available at RTA smart kiosks across Dubai, starting next week, enabling users to manage their payments in a more flexible manner. Meera AlShaikh, director of digital services at RTA Dubai, revealed that the instalment plan is part of the authority’s ongoing effort to improve accessibility and convenience for residents. "Customers will have the option to choose an instalment plan via Tabby at RTA kiosks when making payments for services like renewing vehicle licences or paying fines," AlShaikh explained. Currently, RTA smart kiosks offer a variety of digital services, including fine payments, licence renewals, and the issuance of seasonal parking cards. There are 30 smart kiosks installed across the emirate, allowing residents to complete transactions swiftly and efficiently. Tabby, a shopping and financial services app, is a popular choice for payment plans across the region. Over 40,000 brands and small businesses in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait utilize Tabby’s services, and now RTA joins the roster of public service providers incorporating the app’s features. AlShaikh mentioned that the RTA is also exploring further expansion of this instalment facility across all its digital channels. Dubai residents can start using this feature at RTA customer service centers starting next week. More information about this new service can be found on the official RTA website.
