Dubai Ride, the city’s iconic community cycling event, is back for its sixth edition on November 2, with registration opening on October 3, organizers announced. Part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge 30x30, the free event transforms Sheikh Zayed Road—the UAE’s busiest highway—into a massive cycling track, where thousands of participants pedal past Dubai’s most famous landmarks, including the Museum of the Future, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Opera, and Dubai Water Canal. Registration is free via Dubairide.com, but all participants must collect their bibs between October 29 and November 1 at Zabeel Park’s Fitness Village. Riders must bring an operational bicycle or e-bicycle, helmet, bib number, and a filled water bottle on the day of the event. Cyclists can choose between two main routes: • 12km Sheikh Zayed Road Route – starts at Dubai World Trade Centre and ends at Safa Park, including the Dubai Canal Bridge climb. Recommended for seasoned cyclists. • 4km Downtown Family Route – a flat, family-friendly loop around Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, and Dubai Opera, ideal for children and riders of all levels. The event begins at 6:15am, while competitive cyclists can sign up for Speed Laps on the 12km route, starting at 5am, for a high-intensity challenge. Start gates will close at 7:30am. Dubai Ride is open to everyone, including families, solo riders, and People of Determination, with dedicated support for adapted, hand, and tandem bikes. However, electric scooters, rollerblades, skateboards, and e-motorcycles are not permitted. Organizers said the goal is to encourage the community to embrace healthier lifestyles. “By joining Dubai Ride, participants become part of the city’s biggest month of fitness and wellbeing,” according to organizers.
