Dubai begins implementing 24-hour paid parking services around 59 mosques in the emirate starting August, according to Parkin Company, the city's largest paid parking operator. A total of 2,100 parking spots will now be managed by Parkin, under a new agreement signed with the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department (IACAD). This move aims to streamline parking in busy mosque areas, particularly during non-prayer hours. The designated spaces will fall under Zone M (standard) and Zone MP (premium). Parkin clarified that worshippers will still enjoy one hour of free parking during prayer times. Here’s what the new pricing looks like: • Zone M (Standard): Dh2 for 30 minutes, Dh4 for 1 hour (all day) • Zone MP (Premium): Off-peak hours: Dh2 for 30 minutes, Dh4 for 1 hour Peak hours: Dh3 for 30 minutes, Dh6 for 1 hour Of the 59 locations, 41 are under Zone M, and 18 are under Zone MP. Parkin emphasized that the contract with IACAD is part of a long-term expansion strategy. “This partnership will contribute to expanding Parkin’s total private parking portfolio to 20,800 spaces,” the company said in a statement. Although the revenue-sharing agreement is expected to generate only a modest profit, Parkin views this initiative as an opportunity to support efficient mobility across the city, while also opening doors to manage parking at additional mosque sites in the future.
