At a Tasjeel vehicle testing center. RTA

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a new fee of Dh100 for vehicle owners who go for vehicle testing at Tasjeel centers in Al Qusais and Al Barsha without an online booking. To avoid the charge, vehicle owners can now book their testing appointments through RTA's smart app (RTA Dubai) or its website, a move aimed at improving service efficiency and reducing waiting times. The new system is part of an initiative to enhance the overall experience for vehicle owners by directly addressing their feedback and suggestions for more accessible services. By requiring advance bookings, the RTA aims to reduce congestion at testing centers, particularly during peak hours. The Dh100 fee applies during the trial period to customers who show up without an appointment. The services covered under the new booking system include the Renewal Test, Registration Test, and Export with Number Plates Test. Other vehicle test services will remain available without a booking requirement. RTA has exempted People of Determination and Senior Citizens & Residents from this booking requirement, allowing them access to all vehicle test services without an appointment. This exemption reflects the RTA's commitment to providing convenient services for all community segments. Al Qusais and Al Barsha were selected for this pilot project as they are among the busiest vehicle testing centers in Dubai, accounting for over 60 percent of vehicle testing in the emirate. The initiative is expected to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction by reducing wait times and streamlining the vehicle testing process. RTA plans to evaluate the pilot project and potentially extend the pre-booking service and associated fee to other vehicle testing centers across Dubai in the future. ICA/Expat Media
