Before UAE's 51st National Day, Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum ordered the pardon and release of 1,040 inmates of Dubai's correctional and punitive establishments. On this occasion, Dubai's Attorney-General, Chancellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, said that Sheikh Mohammed's order to pardon the prisoners shows that he wants to give the convicted inmates a chance to start a new life, help out their families, and get back into society. He also said that the act shows that tolerance is one of the UAE's most important national values. Al Humaidan said that the Dubai Public Prosecution and the Dubai Police have started working together to carry out the order. BKM/ Expat Media
