Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced a tourism project to develop the countryside and wilderness of Dubai. He said, "We adopted a comprehensive plan for the countryside and wilderness of Dubai on an area of 2,216 square kilometres of the area of Dubai, and it includes areas such as Al-Lusaili, Lehbab, Al-Marram, Al-Faqaa, Al-Aweer and others." "The development of the countryside and wilderness of Dubai includes a 100 km tourist path, the first of its kind in the region, natural reserves, stations for desert sports, and development initiatives that serve the people of these areas," he added. The projects will conserve natural reserves, archaeological sites, farmers, and local products and provide investment opportunities for residents. The Supreme Committee for Urban Planning will manage the projects. The Master Plan will give each region a unique identity, help farmers sell their products, and turn Dubai's rural districts into tourist attractions. The Plan seeks to improve residents' and visitors' access to public parks and traffic solutions. It also wants to provide sustainable bus routes from important stations to these regions and bike and scooter lanes. The project will build glass dome camps and lodges with panoramic windows and open lounges for visitors to enjoy the area's lakes. Vertical balloons are used to photograph the lakes from above. Visitors can also enjoy kayak boats, souvenir shops, and cafes along the lakes. The survey observed that the UAE's tourism figures are near pre-pandemic levels and that the country would gain from Gulf area momentum as the 2022 World Cup approaches. BKM/ Expat Media
