Participants of Dubai Run 2024 received an exciting surprise this weekend as organizers announced the release of official photos and certificates from the world’s largest free fun run. Emails were sent out to participants on Saturday (November 30), providing links to download their personalized photos and certificates using their Dubai Run bib number. This marks the first time in the event’s history that official photos have been made available, adding a special keepsake for runners to remember the unforgettable event. “As a participant in the world’s largest free fun run, you have shown that together, Dubai can build a healthier and more active future. Thank you for being a part of this extraordinary journey,” organizers said in the email. Runners from all walks of life took to Sheikh Zayed Road on November 24, creating a vibrant and inspiring scene that underscored Dubai’s commitment to promoting health and fitness. This year’s run shattered previous records, drawing a staggering 287,000 participants for its 5km and 10km routes. Elsa Soreno, 76, told Expat Media she was thrilled to participate in this year’s Dubai Run. “I am visiting my children who work here in Dubai, and I thought this was a very wholesome community event, so my children happily got me on a wheelchair,” Soreno said. Soreno’s daughter, May Maslog, told Expat Media that this was her second year to participate in Dubai Run. “It’s not every day you get to run on Sheikh Zayed Road with thousands of others and I would never miss it,” she said. The Dubai Run is a signature event of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, an annual month-long initiative that encourages residents to commit to 30 minutes of exercise daily. By providing official photos and certificates, organizers hope to inspire even more people to take part in future editions of the event. Long-time participant and Expat Media Editor-in-Chief Florence Pia Yu praised the initiative: “I’ve been joining Dubai Run and we at Expat Media have been covering it since it began in 2019, and it is always exciting every year. This is the first time we've received official photos and customized certificates that can be downloaded. It’s a fantastic way to capture the spirit of the event and recognize everyone’s effort.” Participants who have not yet downloaded their photos or certificates can still access them using the links in the email.
