Dubai Run 2023: Essential details to know before your fun run

Dubai’s iconic Sheikh Zayed Road closes to traffic in the early morning of Sunday (November 26) as thousands of runners take over the busy highway for the Dubai Run. Here are essentials you need to know, with less than 24 hours to go until the city comes alive for the world’s biggest fun run to cap the 30-day Dubai Fitness Challenge.

Timings for participants

Arrivals begin at 4am at the starting line near Museum of the Future Dubai Run routes open at 6:30am Start your 5km run before 9am Start your 10km run before 8:15am Aim to finish your run by 9:30am

Routes

Both 10km and 5km routes start near the Museum of the Future. The 10km finishes near The Gate Building of DIFC while the 5km run finishes near Dubai Mall.

Last-minute bib collection

You can still collect your bib from Run and Ride Central (the open air expo site across the Museum of the Future) before midnight on Saturday (November 25).

Run and Ride Central will open at 9am on November 26 for fitness classes, F&B and shopping.

Taking the Dubai Metro

Participants are encouraged to use the Dubai Metro. Train services will open at 3am. Dubai Run participants have been advised to arrive at the DWTC Metro Station if they are taking the 5km run, while those taking the 10km run are advised to arrive at Emirates Tower Metro Station.

Banned items

No pets are allowed on the race routes. Participants are also banned from bringing backpacks, scooters or bicycles. However, runners are encouraged to bring their own hats and refillable water bottles.

Road closures

Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed from 4am to 9:30am or until runners finish their routes. Parts of Financial Centre Road, DIFC and the Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard will also be closed to traffic during the Dubai Run. The 10km run finishes near The Gate Building of DIFC while the 5km run finishes near Dubai Mall.

Toilets

There are temporary toilets at booth holding areas.
