Starting at the end of January 2025, motorists in Dubai will experience new Salik toll charges under the Variable Road Toll Pricing system, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Thursday (November 28). The RTA explained that under the variable toll pricing system, Salik toll fees will increase to Dh6 during peak hours—6am to 10am and 4pm to 8pm—on weekdays. Off-peak charges will remain Dh4, applicable between 10am and 4pm and 8pm to 1am. Late-night hours, from 1am to 6am, will be toll-free. On Sundays, excluding public holidays or major events, a flat rate of Dh4 will apply throughout the day, with toll-free passage from 1am to 6am. There are 10 Salik toll gates across Dubai, with the addition of the Business Bay Crossing toll gate on Al Khail Road and Al Safa South toll gate on Sheikh Zayed Road. Both gates were activated on November 24. Other existing Salik toll gates are located on Al Garhoud Bridge (Sheikh Zayed Road), Al Maktoum Bridge (Umm Hurair Road), Jebel Ali (Sheikh Zayed Road), and in Al Mamzar South (Al Ittihad Road), Al Mamzar North (Al Ittihad Road), Al Safa North Gate (Sheikh Zayed Road), Airport Tunnel (Beirut Street) and Al Barsha (Sheikh Zayed Road).
