The world’s busiest international airport in Dubai is expecting its single busiest day on September 1, according to airport operator Dubai Airports. An estimated 291,000 passengers are expected to travel through Dubai International airport (DXB) in 24 hours, according to Dubai Airports, adding that it is “collaborating with airlines, control authorities, and service partners to ensure a seamless journey for all.” According to the airport operator, some 3.43 million travelers are expected to travel through DXB in the next 13 days from August 31 to September 1 as residents as well as tourists return at the end of the summer break. Dubai Airports is advising travellers to take note of recommended arrival times, which vary according to airline. An airport spokesperson said that passengers with flights on this peak period should be at DXB three hours ahead of their flight. Airlines have advised passengers to check in online between 48 hours before their flight for a seamless travel and to save time at the airport. In Abu Dhabi, airlines are also expecting their busiest week as more travelers, especially returning expats, fly into the Zayed International Airport. PIA/Expat Media
