Dubai’s iconic Sheikh Zayed Road will be temporarily closed for a few hours, for three days, starting on Friday (December 1) during the COP28 climate change conference. According to the Roads and Transport Authority, Sheikh Zayed Road’s Abu Dhabi-bound carriageway will be closed from 7am to 11am from December 1 to 3. The closure will span from the Trade Centre Roundabout until Exit 20 on Expo Road. Traffic diversions for motorists headed towards Abu Dhabi are expected. Traffic will be diverted to alternative roads such as Jumeirah Street, Al Khail Road, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road.
