A 25-year-old Arab man was fined Dh10,000 and handed a two-year ban on financial transactions after creating a disturbance in a Dubai shopping mall toilet. The Misdemeanors Court also ordered the confiscation of his controlled substances after it was revealed that he used narcotics during the incident. The incident began when shoppers reported the suspect’s loud and erratic behavior inside the toilet. Mall security intervened and called the police, who arrested the Arab man causing the disturbance. He did not test positive for alcohol, however, a subsequent search revealed that he carried a cigarette containing suspected narcotics. A forensic analysis confirmed the man was a habitual drug user. During questioning, he admitted to consuming the drugs and revealed he had obtained them from a dealer, transferring payment to an overseas account. The court imposed strict penalties, including the financial transaction ban, to prevent similar incidents and combat drug-related crimes. ICA/Expat Media
