Some Dubai stores to reopen ahead of Ramadan
DUBAI - Trading stores in Dubai will be allowed to reopen to cater to shoppers ahead of Ramadan, according to the Dubai Economy. Those allowed to operate from 8am until 8pm are meat shops, fruit and vegetable stores, roasters, mills, nuts trading stores, chocolate and sweets stores, fish markets, coffee traders and tea trading stores. The Dubai Economy said that storekeepers and shoppers are expected to abide by the UAE’s social distancing rules, which includes wearing a mask and gloves. A similar measure has not been announced in Abu Dhabi, although authorities there have carried out disinfection of shopping centres and malls as part of preventive measures against Covid-19. The disinfection drive covers 31 shopping centers in the capital.
