Dubai taxi driver returns bag with Dh77,000 left by Pakistani traveler

A taxi driver in Dubai has been lauded for returning a bag containing Dh77,000 left by a Pakistani traveler on the way to Dubai International Airport. Brigadier Hamouda bin Suwayda Al Amiri, Acting Director of the General Department of Airports Security, honoured the taxi driver for his honesty. The traveler, identified by his initials S.S., did not realise he lost the bag until he was contacted by Dubai Police that his bag has been handed over to the Lost and Found section at the airport. The traveler left the black bag in the passenger seat of a Dubai taxi on his way to the airport. The bag contained money in dirhams, riyals, pounds, rupees and some documents. After checking the bag for details about the owner, Dubai Police contacted S.S. relatives in the United Kingdom, who gave them his contact number. Dubai Police arranged to handover the bag after learning that S.S. would be transiting in Dubai International Airport on a flight back to Pakistan. ICA/Expat Media
