DUBAI - A 46-year-old Filipino teacher is under investigation after he allegedly asked his 11-year-old female student to send him her nude photos. The Dubai Public Prosecution is conducting the investigation against the teacher, identified as A.E. A Public Prosecution official said that A.E., who works at a private school in Deira, had asked the Arab student to send her nude photos through WhatsApp. The alleged incident was discovered after the Grade 6 girl, identified as L.Y., reportedly told her teachers and classmates that she was in a suicidal state. The school then alerted her 43-year-old mother who said that she was able to monitor her daughter undergoing "some kind of pressure and always complained about pain in her body". "Finally, we discovered that her Computer teacher was contacting her on her WhatsApp after school hours and sending inappropriate messages and posts,” the mother told investigators. She allged that the teacher had asked her daughter to take photos of her private parts and send the photos to him on WhatsApp. The family reported the teacher to the Al Ghusais Police Station where experts interviewed the girl. Police later arrested the teacher who admitted during interrogation that he encouraged the student to send her nude photos. He told police that his students, including L.Y., often contacted him on WhatsApp to discuss school projects. The investigation continues.
