Dubai: Three jailed, deported after forcing a minor into prostitution

The Dubai Court of Appeal confirmed a first-instance court's decision to imprison three adults for exploiting a girl and forcing her into prostitution. According to police records, the police got documented information claiming that a girl under 18 was kept in an apartment and that a gang abused her in immoral conduct and hired her in a nightclub. A police officer alleged that he planned an ambush to apprehend the gang members. He visited the hotel where the girl worked and met one of the staff members. He addressed him and conveyed his respect for the young lady. The member then agreed to a price of Dh3,000 for her services and Dh30 for renting a hotel room. The officer agreed and then provided his colleagues with the necessary information. Police detained people engaged in the crime after gaining approval from the Dubai Public Prosecution, including the person who spoke to the police, the driver who transported the girl from her house, and the third member who held her captive. According to the victim, she came to the nation one month before the case was reported. One of the gang members, whose phone number she obtained from a buddy, informed her that there was a job opening in a hotel in Dubai with a monthly pay of Dh2,000. She agreed to take the job, and the individual she spoke with obtained a passport for her. On the form, he lied about her age, claiming she was beyond the age of 18, while in fact, she was a juvenile. When she landed in Dubai, she was met by another gang member who led her to an apartment, seized her passport and visa, and locked her up. He told her that she would have to work as a dancer and prostitute against her will. She said she did the work for a month before the police received the report.
