Dubai traffic police chief flags down motorists on UAE National Flag Day

  DUBAI - Motorists and road users in Dubai got a big surprise when they were flagged down on the street by the chief of Dubai's traffic police himself on Thursday (November 2). Their violation? None. Brigadier General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director General of Traffic Department, just wanted to share the joy of National Flag Day. Al Mazrouei was spotted distributing UAE flags and gifts to road users at City Walk in Dubai. Police officers and volunteers from the Young Leaders Council also helped distribute flags to road users at intersections and streets in Dubai, as well as in residential areas and Dubai Metro stations, the Dubai Police said. This year, National Flag Day is being celebrated on November 2 instead of November 3. In pictures: UAE celebrates Flag Day Al Mazrouei said that the celebration of National Flag Day is a "consecration of the strong relationship between the leadership and the people and reflects the sense of unity, cohesion and belonging to the nation and its wise leadership".
