Dh50,000, iPhone 8 and other prizes for frequent Dubai transport commuters

  DUBAI - Two frequent travellers on any of Dubai's public transportation stand a chance to win Dh50,000, according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Commuters on the Dubai Metro, tram, taxi, public bus, water taxi and water bus will collect points for each time they use these modes of transport and pay with their Nol card. Two commuters with the highest number of points will win Dh50,000 each. The competition is part of the Public Transport Day to be celebrated on November 1. This year’s Public Transport Day festivities includes three categories: frequent travellers, public transport races and Gold Runner competition. Social media users can follow RTA's social media accounts for daily tips on how to join the Golden Runner competition. The game requires them to locate the Golden Runner who visits three RTA stations. Winners will receive Fitbits, Apple watches or an iPhone 8.
On November 1,  several teams of commuters will race through different metro, tram, public bus, and marine transport stations to perform tasks. The winning team will receive a cash prize of Dh50,000, the runner up will get Dh30,000, and the second runner up will get Dh15,000.
