Two men were apprehended after attempting to steal from a charity box in Dubai's Al Qusais Industrial Area. According to police documents, the case dates back to August last year. A man reported to the police that his brother, a security guard, had called him and informed him of two suspicious people lingering around the area where he was on duty. He stated that they appeared to be planning to take something. After calling the cops, the security guard and his brother confronted the two and asked them why they were there. They insulted the guard and left the place. They later discovered that the suspects had stolen Dh97 from a nonprofit organization's box outside a supermarket store. The guard and his brother attempted to apprehend the two, but a police patrol had already apprehended them. According to police patrol officers, the operation room notified them of suspicious movements in the area where they were stationed. They acted quickly and apprehended the accused while attempting to steal from the donation box. When questioned, the two accused men admitted to the crime. The Dubai Criminal Court found them guilty and sentenced them to three months in prison. They were ordered to pay Dh97 and will be deported after serving their sentence.
