The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced two Asians to three months in jail, followed by deportation, and fined them Dh100,000 each for staging a gambling game on the street in the Naif neighborhood. The investigation began in July of last year when a police officer from the Naif Police Station noticed a group of Asians gathered around while engaging in a gambling game. According to official papers, the police officer reported what he witnessed to the authorities, and a team of investigators rushed to the area and apprehended the offenders. During questioning, one of the suspects revealed that he planned a gambling game in the Naif area where each player would pay Dhs100 to him if he lost but would get double the amount if he won. The other suspect confessed that his role was restricted to luring gamblers to join the game. BKM/ Expat Media
