Another iconic Dubai Metro station has received a new name. The UAE Exchange Metro Station has officially been renamed Life Pharmacy Metro Station, as part of a 10-year naming rights agreement announced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The new partnership was finalized between Life Pharmacy Group and Hypermedia, with Mada Media attending as the official concessionaire appointed by RTA under its long-standing metro naming rights initiative. The station, located on the Red Line and serving thousands of daily commuters in Jebel Ali, will gradually reflect the new name across all external and internal signage, RTA digital systems, mobile apps, and onboard announcements from May through August. “RTA is committed to forging successful partnerships with the private sector, given its vital role in driving national economic growth and contributing to GDP,” said Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Kalbat, CEO of RTA’s Rail Agency. “This successful public-private partnership model facilitates the transfer of knowledge and expertise, creates job opportunities across multiple sectors, and supports the government’s broader development agenda,” he added, praising the initiative’s impact since it was launched in 2009 as the world’s first metro naming rights program. This latest deal reinforces the RTA’s Metro Naming Rights Project, which has proven popular with major brands seeking high-impact visibility in Dubai's urban transit landscape. Mohamad Al Hammadi, CEO of Mada Media, emphasized the strategic value of the agreement, noting: “This initiative reflects our goal of transforming advertising spaces into impactful platforms, enabling naming rights sponsors to enhance their visibility and commercial footprint.” “The agreement presents a unique investment opportunity for Life Pharmacy, capitalising on the strategic location of Dubai Metro stations, particularly this one, to strengthen brand awareness and deepen engagement with commuters.” Life Pharmacy, one of the UAE’s largest retail pharmacy networks, views this milestone as more than a branding exercise. “We are proud to partner with RTA through Mada Media to acquire the naming rights for a station that serves as a vital hub within Dubai’s seamless, multi-modal transport network,” said Abdul Rahuman Abdul Nazzar, Chairman and Managing Director of Life Pharmacy Group. “This partnership goes beyond naming rights—it reflects Life Pharmacy’s broader commitment to the city and its communities.
