With an estimated millions of visitors expected, Dubai has rolled out a comprehensive security plan for its 2025 New Year’s Eve celebrations. The extensive measures include the deployment of over 8,500 police officers and advanced crowd-management strategies to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees. Fireworks displays will light up 36 locations, including iconic landmarks like Burj Khalifa, Dubai Frame, and Expo City. Special provisions, such as viewing areas with screens and meal services for workers will be set up to allow revelers to enjoy celebrations and fireworks shows away from crowded event locations. Dubai will be divided into four operational sectors—North, Central, West, and Maritime—to streamline efforts. “This division allows for efficient resource allocation and enhanced public services,” said Major General Khalil Ibrahim, Chair of the Events Security Committee. The plan includes the deployment of six mobile operations rooms and 33 marine rescue boats, as well as real-time monitoring of traffic lights near major event venues. Smart screens will provide drivers with updates on road closures and alternative routes. Adel Al Marzouqi of Dubai Municipality emphasized, “A dedicated team of 2,776 staff will maintain public health, food safety, and cleanliness. Our efforts ensure that public spaces remain welcoming and hygienic.” Dubai Health has stationed 1,800 medical staff and established a fully equipped field hospital near Burj Khalifa. “We’ve reinforced emergency points with specialized medical teams and are prepared for any situation,” said Khalifa Baqer, COO of Dubai Health. Additionally, Dubai Ambulance has set up 224 emergency points and deployed 593 paramedics. Emergency reports can be made via the toll-free number 999 while non-emergency reports can be made via 901. The public can also contact 998 for Dubai Ambulance services and medications. ICA/Expat Media
