A woman was ordered to pay her ex-husband Dh713,000 for a property they acquired together. The man sued his ex-wife, stating that they agreed to invest in real estate and pay in installments before they separated. They leased to own an Arabian Ranches home and two Marina apartments. Before the final payment, the couple divorced. The plaintiff continued to pay his portion and his ex-wife's. After paying the installments, he asked his ex to pay her half, but she refused and demanded her share of the property. He sued her for the Dh1,757,000 he was entitled. The court ordered the ex-wife to pay him Dh259,000 and split the legal fees. However, the man appealed the verdict, and the appeals court ordered the woman to pay Dh713,000 to her ex-husband. The Court of Cassation upheld the ruling. BKM/ Expat MediaFor all the latest news from the UAE and the world, follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and subscribe to our YouTube page
