Dubai World Cup traffic plan for Saturday

  DUBAI - With thousands of people expected to flock to the Meydan Racecourse for the Dubai World Cup, the Roads and Transport Authority  (RTA) has prepared a traffic plan for Saturday (March 31). The RTA said that its traffic plan will be enforced from 3pm until 12am. The transport authority, however, has not yet announced whether traffic diversions will be in place. The RTA said that those who hold parking cards for the event will have access to 6,000 parking spaces at the Meydan Racecourse. The RTA has also designated 5,000 parking spaces near the Nad Al Sheba mosque, where 100 buses will be stationed to transport people from the Nad Al Sheba mosque parking to the Meydan Racecourse. To ease traffic buildup to and from Meydan, the RTA said that 50 buses will be available to ferry passengers from from the Meydan Racecourse to Burj Khalifa and Deira City Centre Metro Stations. There will also be 4,000 taxis deployed at the venue to ease transport.
