Dubai’s world-first innovation, the floating Smart Police Station (SPS), is expected to get a boost thanks to a Dh2 billion budget for Dubai Police projects. The SPS is the eight in the series of Dubai Police projects earmarked to cost Dubai a total of Dh2 billion, Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced on Tuesday (November 12) during his visit to the Dubai Police Officers Club. This initiative, launched as part of a Dh2 billion series of Dubai Police projects, marks a milestone in Dubai’s effort to integrate smart technology into public services. The floating SPS, located in The World Islands in Dubai, operates 24/7 and requires no human intervention. It caters to yacht enthusiasts, water sports lovers, and residents of the surrounding islands, offering over 60 services including traffic, criminal, and community functions. Residents and tourists can access key services, such as permits and certificates, via Emirates ID or passport, making processes seamless and convenient. Recognized by the Guinness World Records, the floating station is equipped with a live video link to on-duty officers, allowing users to interact remotely in real time. With services ranging from good-conduct certificates to victim support resources, the floating SPS seeks to uphold safety while serving the unique demands of Dubai’s coastal and marine areas. The Dh2 billion investment package supporting this project is comprehensive. Alongside the floating SPS, Sheikh Mohammed also launched several other police projects, including housing developments and specialized training centers, all aimed at strengthening community and police welfare. These forward-thinking projects align with Dubai’s overarching goals for innovation and public service enhancement, signaling the city’s commitment to becoming a leader in smart, accessible public safety solutions.
