Motorists can now travel from Hessa Street to Al Khail Road in just three minutes, thanks to a newly opened bridge by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The 1,000-meter-long, two-lane bridge marks a significant milestone in Dubai’s efforts to improve traffic flow. The bridge is part of the larger Hessa Street development project, spanning 4.5km and involving upgrades to four major intersections. The Dh689 million project is 54 percent complete and is expected to fully open by late 2025. “This project represents Dubai’s commitment to infrastructure excellence under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum,” said Mattar Al Tayer, RTA Director General. The project involves widening Hessa Street to four lanes in each direction, doubling its capacity to accommodate 16,000 vehicles per hour. Cyclists will also benefit from a 13.5km dedicated track.
