Dubai’s population increased by 1.5 percent to exceed 3.6 million for the first time, according to data from the Dubai Statistics Centre. As of 1:30pm on Monday (June 26), the population in Dubai was 3,600,752. This represented more than 33,000 increase in population compared to the first quarter of 2023 when it recorded a population of 3.56 million. According to the Dubai Urban Plan, this is the first time that the population in Dubai exceeded 3.6 million. Dubai is estimated to have a population of 5.8 million by 2040. Since the pandemic, Dubai’s population has seen an increase, jumping by 6.3 percent at the end of the first quarter of 2020 when it recorded a population of approximately 3.38 million. Majority of the population in Dubai are males. The number of men in Dubai reached 2.43 million, representing 69 percent of the total population. Females represent 31 percent of the total population, with 1.1 million in the country. Expats make up 92 percent of the population, numbering about 3.2 million, while Emiratis represent only 8 percent of the total population, numbering about 284,600. ICA/Expat Media
