Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is set to begin his first official visit to India on Tuesday (April 8), following an invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Dubai Media Office announced. The two-day visit will include high-level meetings with key Indian officials aimed at boosting bilateral ties and economic cooperation across strategic sectors. Sheikh Hamdan is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Modi over a working lunch and hold discussions with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. On April 9, he will travel to Mumbai to take part in a business roundtable involving prominent business leaders from both countries. Dubai plays a vital role in strengthening the UAE-India relationship, particularly in trade and people-to-people exchanges. As of 2024, the Indian expatriate population in Dubai neared 4 million. The visit follows a similar trip by Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in September 2023, during which he held talks with Indian leaders and participated in a business forum in Mumbai.
