Dusty skies and hazy conditions enveloped Dubai on Wednesday (November 5) as the UAE braced for scattered rainfall, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The weather bureau reported dusty conditions in Dubai and the Al Dhafrah region in Abu Dhabi, where light to moderate rainfall was forecast to occur later in the day. The NCM advised motorists and residents to exercise caution due to reduced visibility caused by dust and sand, especially in open areas. “Wednesday will be dusty to partly cloudy and cloudy at times over Al Dhafrah region, with a probability of light to moderate rainfall,” the NCM said in its bulletin. The forecaster added that a “slight increase in temperatures” is expected across several regions. Residents also reported hazy skies in other parts of the country, including Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain, with humidity levels expected to rise by nightfall. The NCM forecast that the humid conditions will continue into Thursday morning over some coastal and internal areas, with occasional fresh winds stirring up sand and dust. The sea will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Authorities reminded residents, especially those with respiratory conditions, to limit outdoor activities and keep windows closed during the dusty weather. The unstable weather pattern is expected to persist until the weekend, with chances of cloud cover and light rainfall in parts of the western region, before skies begin to clear by Sunday.
