Former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte’s senatorial slate swept all 12 spots in Qatar’s Senate vote tally, reaffirming the strength of his political influence in the Middle East. Duterte's PDP Laban candidates were dominant in the region, with Bong Go topping the Qatar list at 7,389 votes, followed by Bato Dela Rosa with 6,990, and Rodante Marcoleta with 6,906. The pro-Duterte voting pattern in Qatar matches that of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain, suggesting a coordinated and well-received campaign message targeting OFWs. The election, held online for the first time for overseas voters, ran from April 13 to May 12. The inclusion of Imee Marcos as a last-minute addition to the PDP Laban ticket appears to have paid off, particularly in GCC countries, despite her connection to the Marcos administration.
