Duterte hits back at chief of UN human right body over probe call, calls Al Hussein a 'joker' and an 'idiot'

  MANILA - In a cuss-laden speech on Thursday, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte slammed UN human rights chief Zeid Raad Al Hussein for calling for an investigation into the killings committed by Duterte when he was mayor of Davao City and into the bloody drug war of the administration. Duterte called Al Hussein, who happens to be a Jordanian prince and a career diplomat, a "joker", "idiot", and "son of a b****". He also said Al Hussein cannot tell him what to do because UN member-nations like the Philippines pay for his salary. Al Hussein earlier urged Philippine authorities to look into the killing of kidnap suspects that Duterte admitted he has done when he was Davao City mayor. Duterte also said he would go around the city looking for an encounter with criminals to kill them. Al Hussein also said an investigation should be done on the extrajudicial killings of over 6,000 drug suspects that started after Duterte assumed office last June 30. Al Hussein is the son of Prince Ra'ad bin Zeid, Lord Chamberlain of Jordan. His biography shows that Al Hussein played a central role in the establishment of the International Criminal Court, which tries cases of genocide and crimes against humanity. In answer to Al Hussein's call, the Philippine Commission on Human Rights (CHR) will look into the matter, particularly Duterte's links to the dreaded Davao Death Squad (DDS). Talking in a gathering of drug watch volunteers in Pampanga, a province north of Metro Manila, Duterte said: "The United Nations human rights (chief) said Duterte should be charged for murder. This guy is either a joker or medyo sira ang ulo (a little crazy). "You (UN) officials who are sitting there, we pay your salaries. You idiot, you don't tell me what to do. I am your employer. You do not do it to a nation." "Who gave you the right? You lack knowledge of international law. We have contributions to the United Nations, you rowdy son of a b****. I am a member state, a sovereign state. Please shut up because you lack brains. Do not do that. You're just an employee there, by appointment. Got it?" Duterte also said.
