Eid Al Fitr 2022 in UAE: Holidays for private schools in Dubai announced

Private schools in Dubai will be closed for Eid Al Fitr holidays, according to the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). KHDA said on Twitter that "schools will be closed the week starting Monday, May 2," and that students will have a seven-day holiday until classes resumed on Monday, May 9. The first day of Shawwal, the Hijri calendar month following Ramadan, is celebrated as Eid Al Fitr. According to astronomical estimates, the Islamic holiday will take place this year on May 2. Residents in the UAE will have Eid Al Fitr holidays from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3, according to the official UAE holiday calendar.
