Popular reggae group Elias J. TV Band, led by Elias Lintucan Jr., has filed a petition before the Regional Trial Court here seeking to nullify its management contract with Beverly Pumicpic Labadlabad, citing alleged violations, abuse of authority, and lack of transparency. In their August 7 filing, the group also sought an accounting of funds, payment of damages and attorney’s fees, and a temporary restraining order to prevent Labadlabad from “further interference” in their affairs. They alleged that the April 2025 Artist Management Agreements were executed under “highly irregular circumstances,” including fraudulent inducement, incomplete provisions, and the insertion of a 30 percent commission clause after the documents were signed. The petition accuses Labadlabad of exerting unilateral control over the band’s income, branding, bookings, and digital platforms without proper authority. The group claimed a “disturbing pattern of retaliation,” including dismissing core band members without due process, imposing unfounded penalties of up to ₱50,000 (Dh3,216), interfering in personal relationships, and compromising the band’s safety through travel decisions that left them stranded in remote areas. They also cited an August 6 press conference where Labadlabad and her legal counsel allegedly issued public threats of civil and criminal charges “to intimidate, discredit, and silence” the band. The band maintained they are willing to honor valid contracts entered into before their relationship soured, provided that payments are deposited with the court to protect all parties. Elias J. TV Band's manager announced a Dubai concert in December as part of the band's world tour, which also includes stops in the US, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, Canada, Europe, and the UK. However, the ongoing legal dispute has raised questions about whether the shows will push through. Labadlabad’s camp has denied wrongdoing, accusing the band of “bypassing” her management by directly collecting payments from clients and failing to remit commissions, allegedly amounting to ₱1.7 million. She has vowed to file estafa and breach of contract charges against Elias in Manila next week. “Calm down and relax.
