Actress Ellen Adarna has come out swinging on social media, defending her former partner John Lloyd Cruz from online personality Christian “Xian” Gaza’s latest tirade while also clapping back at Gaza’s blind item suggesting her husband Derek Ramsay is a billionaire on the brink of a breakup. On Sunday (September 28), Gaza launched two separate posts that quickly went viral. His cryptic post on Facebook asked whether a “celebrity guy” and “super famous celebrity girl” had separated. He further fueled speculation by questioning if the supposed wife had signed a prenuptial agreement and whether she was entitled to the husband’s alleged “billions”, while her son, with whom she has guardianship, is entitled to his father's assets.

"Is this the masterplan from the start?" Gaza asked. Although he did not drop names, social media users were quick to link the blind item to Adarna, her husband Ramsay and ex-partner Cruz.

Adarna responded with pointed shade, refuting Gaza’s claims, defending Cruz with whom she has a son, and also hinting that her husband does not actually have “billions” as alleged. “Billions? The only billions I’ve seen were from flood control projects. Billionaire? And don’t belittle just because he's simple. You don’t know, but I know his assets,” she said in Filipino. She also slammed Gaza for being inaccurate. “At least if you’re going to gossip, get everything right. It’s hard when you’re called an unreliable source or a liar,” Adarna said in Filipino. Adarna and Cruz dated in 2017 and later broke up. They co-parent their son,  Elias. While Cruz's assets are not publicly disclosed, the actor is known for his commercial and critical successes in Philippine cinema. Adarna is heiress to one of Cebu’s wealthiest clans, with her family’s holdings spanning hotels, motels, and prime properties across Cebu, Davao, and Metro Manila, including the well-known Queensland Hotel chain. She also carved out her own career in showbiz as an actress and model. Ramsay, meanwhile, is known for his impressive personal portfolio of luxury assets, including a fleet of sports cars such as Porsches, a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, a Bentley, and a Rolls-Royce. His wealth also extends to properties like his family’s security business, a striking glass-and-steel beach house in Palawan, and entrepreneurial ventures including a food park called “The Barracks” and a boutique gym.

Unfazed, Gaza doubled down later that day, throwing shade at the couple and implying Ramsay rushed into marriage. “What we can learn from Derek Ramsay: Don’t get caught up in emotions. Don’t get married if you’ve only known each other for a few months and your relationship is shallow, especially if you have a lot of wealth,” Gaza said in Filipino.

For his part, Ramsay dismissed Gaza’s post with a brief statement: “Good morning, guys. So, there’s this issue about Mr. Xian Gaza. I’ll just keep this very simple. There is no truth to anything that was said. That’s it, guys.”

This is not the first time the couple has had to shut down rumors. Just last month, Ramsay denied a blogger’s claim that his daughter with Adarna, Lily, was not his biological child.
