Elon Musk creates Twitter poll: ‘Should I step down as head of Twitter?’

Elon Musk posted a poll on Twitter last Sunday, asking users if they thought he should resign from his position as CEO. Musk also promised to follow the poll's results. The poll is set to close at 11:20 GMT on Monday. Replying to a user on Twitter later, Musk said that "there is no successor" in reference to a possible change in CEO. Musk said in a Delaware court last month that he would work less at Twitter and eventually find a new CEO. The survey was released following Twitter's Sunday policy change, which forbade the creation of accounts solely to promote rival social media companies and posting content that contains links to or usernames for those platforms. Minutes before the poll, Musk apologized and tweeted: "Going forward, there will be a vote for major policy changes." According to a tweet from Twitter support, the updated policy would affect content from social media sites like Facebook and Instagram from Meta Platforms and Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr, and Post. While debating how much to charge for Twitter Blue, the company's subscription service, he fired its top executives and let about half its employees go.
