Filipino music icon Ely Buendia will return to Dubai this December for the highly anticipated reunion concert of Eraserheads, his legendary band that helped define the 1990s Filipino music scene. The reunion, part of their “Huling El Bimbo World Tour 2024,” will take place at the Dubai Exhibition Centre’s North Hall 1 in Expo City Dubai on December 8. This marks their first performance in Dubai since their last reunion show in 2013. Book tickets Buendia has also been busy outside of Eraserheads, recently releasing his latest solo album, “Method Adaptor.” The album, which will officially launch on November 8 at 123 Block in Mandaluyong, Philippines, showcases Buendia’s creative versatility and desire to explore new musical directions. “Method Adaptor,” according to Buendia, reflects the challenges and introspection he faced during its creation. “It’s been a while since I wrote songs. I experienced a mild writer's block and had to figure out how to be creative again,” he shared. The album’s first single, “Bulaklak sa Buwan,” debuted on August 16, followed by “Tagpi-tagping Piraso” on October 17. Buendia describes the album as symbolic rather than narrative, diverging from Eraserheads’ storytelling style. “With this album, I wanted something raw but polished, to show that every era of music has its golden age,” he said, reflecting on both his past achievements and the evolution of OPM (Original Pilipino Music). Buendia noted the album’s theme of creative resilience and adaptation, hence the name “Method Adaptor.” The production involved careful sound engineering with Jerome Velasco to meet today’s high standards, offering fans a multi-dimensional listening experience. “I was always hurt by people saying the Eraserheads’ music sounded tinny.
