Speculation about the early reopening of the Dubai Fountain has been swirling after videos surfaced online showing the attraction’s basin refilled with water. However, developer Emaar has dismissed the rumors, confirming that the world-famous fountain remains under renovation. “There is no confirmed reopening date for Dubai Fountain at this stage. Based on the current pace of works, we expect progress to continue in line with the schedule. Should there be any formal update, it will be shared through our official channels,” Emaar said in a statement on Friday (August 22). The Dubai Fountain, located at the base of Burj Khalifa and adjacent to Dubai Mall, has been a global landmark since its debut in 2009. It was temporarily closed in April for a major renovation, with its last performance held on April 19. Since then, parts of the basin have been drained and cordoned off, with heavy equipment on site. Renovation work, which began in May, aims to modernize the attraction with enhanced choreography, upgraded sound and lighting systems, and a more immersive experience for audiences. Expat Media first reported that LED screens have been installed along the construction barriers, offering digital visuals for visitors while the fountain remains inactive. Widely considered the world’s largest choreographed fountain system, the Dubai Fountain has been a top tourist draw for over a decade, mesmerizing millions with its water, light, and music shows. While October has been floated as a possible reopening timeline, Emaar has yet to confirm any date.
