Filipino boxer Eman Bacosa Pacquiao has ruled out a potential boxing match against his half-brother Jimuel Pacquiao, saying family comes first. Speaking on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Thursday (April 16), Bacosa was asked by host Boy Abunda about the possibility of a “Pacquiao vs Pacquiao” fight. Eman dismissed the idea, saying it would not feel right to face his own brother in the ring. “He is my brother. There’s nothing good that will come out of it, whether you win or lose against your sibling,” he said in Filipino. “Of course, our dad wouldn’t like it either. I also don’t want him to get hurt because of that.” He then addressed Jimuel directly, saying: “I really love you, kuya!” Eman also shared that he has a good relationship with his half-siblings, describing them as supportive. Both fighters are sons of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, an eight-division world champion. Bacosa expressed hopes of following in his father’s footsteps by winning titles under the World Boxing Council and World Boxing Association. He also said he believes his father should have won the historic 2015 bout against Floyd Mayweather Jr.. The two boxing icons are reportedly scheduled to have a much-anticipated rematch on September 19, although Mayweather said plans are not final. ICA/Expat Media
