The UAE Ambassador to the Argentine Republic, Saeed Abdullah Al Qamzi, met with Salem Obaidallah, Senior VP of Commercial Operations Americas Region at Emirates, on the occasion of Emirates Airlines resuming operations to Argentina on November 2, following a two-and-a-half-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting was also attended by Ramiro Ordoqui, Undersecretary for Economic Negotiations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Paola Tamborelli, Director of Civil Aviation, and Oscar Suarez, Director of International Markets at the National Institute for Tourism Promotion. Al Qamzi emphasized that Emirates Airlines' return to Argentina will benefit tourism, trade, and investment between the two countries. He also stated that it would help leverage the enormous potential in both countries by providing convenient transportation for businessmen, investors, and tourists on board one of the world's fastest-growing and most advanced carriers. He stated that trade between the two countries has increased significantly in the last year, surpassing US$1.111 billion and that the resumption of Emirates Airlines operations will boost economic and trade growth. Obaidallah confirmed that Emirates would operate four weekly flights to Buenos Aires via Rio de Janeiro, providing customers in Argentina and Brazil with direct connectivity to major business and leisure destinations across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
