Emirates deploys its first fully restored A380 aircraft

The first Emirates A380 to be restored as part of the airline's US$ 2 billion conversion program, EK003, was deployed today on the Dubai-London Heathrow service. The repair was done on A6-EVM, the first 120 Emirates aircraft to finish its refurbishment. Emirates' latest products and interiors are featured throughout all cabins on the fully refurbished A380, featuring 56 Premium Economy class seats on the main deck and new color palettes visible in the carpets and wall panels. First and Business Class seats on the upper deck have Emirates' latest cream-colored leather upholstery and lighter-toned wood finishes, akin to the airline's 'game changer' offering. The ghaf tree theme, emblematic of the Emirates, is also evident throughout the interiors, featuring hand-stenciled panels in the First Class Shower Spa. A6-EUW is the next Emirates A380 scheduled for a makeover, and work is expected to be completed by the end of this month. Engineers will work on two aircraft simultaneously as the program continues. This means that one aircraft in the fleet will be pulled from the operation every eight days and transferred to Emirates Engineering facilities. All 67 A380s scheduled for refurbishment will be back in service by 2024. Emirates will subsequently commence construction on the 53 Boeing 777s designated for this project.
