Emirates airline has dismissed rumors that it terminated employees over a viral behind-the-scenes video that gained over 1.3 million views on YouTube. The airline issued an official statement on Wednesday (February 12), clarifying that no cabin crew members were dismissed as a result of the video, which showcased lesser-known aspects of their daily duties. “Emirates is aware of the video mentioned and had investigated the matter at the time. We can confirm that no crew was dismissed as a result,” an Emirates spokesperson said. The 30-minute video, titled "Behind The Scenes as Emirates Cabin Crew – Things You DON’T See as a Passenger," was filmed during a flight to Shanghai and gave viewers an insider look at how cabin crew members operate behind closed doors. The footage showed employees preparing meals, arranging cabins, and carrying out other duties typically unseen by passengers. Emirates Group has been actively expanding its workforce. According to its 2023-24 financial report, the company increased its total employee count by 10 percent, reaching 112,406 staff members—the largest in its history.
