DUBAI – UAE nationals can now use their Emirates ID instead of their passport to travel to any country in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), according to the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management. The decision took effect on April 29, and also applies to GCC nationals who want to use their national ID cards to travel to the UAE. According to the authority, the move was taken to “facilitate smooth travel between the countries of the GCC, and in support of sustainable recovery efforts”. GCC countries are UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain. ICA/Expat Media
