Emirates to increase salaries, reinstate some allowances
DUBAI – Dubai-based airline Emirates has announced it will increase salaries and reinstate some staff allowances starting October 1. In a letter sent to employees, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, thanked Emirates staff for standing with the company during tough times. “You accepted the difficult working conditions, including cuts to pay and benefits, and you have demonstrated your loyalty,” he said. The Emirates boss said that the airline will be increasing staff salaries. “We will better recognise our internal talent by increasing the salary increment opportunity on promotion for core grades,” Sheikh Ahmed said. He said that Emirates will also be reinstating accommodation allowance for married couples, and increase annual leave entitlements. “We will introduce the option to nominate five friends who can receive concessional tickets in Economy Class,” Sheikh Ahmed said.
