Emirates employees can expect to get more in their paycheck this July after the airline group announced a substantial 4 percent increase in base salaries effective July 1. This increment is part of a comprehensive package of enhanced benefits, which also includes extended paid maternity leave and increased paternity leave. Transportation allowances, UAE national allowances and allowances for flight crew working hours will also get a 4 percent increase. The airline’s CEO highlighted that this move is aimed at recognizing the hard work of the staff and aligning with the company’s commitment to employee welfare and satisfaction. Emirates Group also announced a 10 percent to 15 percent increase in subsistence and accommodation allowances. The airline is expected to give amended contract letters with details of the new base salary and fixed allowances on July 22, 2024. Employees who have given birth with enjoy paid maternity leave that has been extended from 60 days to 90 days. Paid nursing breaks for new mothers have also been doubled from one hour to two hours per day. For fathers, paid paternity leave will also be doubled from five days to 10 working days. Emirates employees with education support allowance will see a 10 percent increase starting September 1. The increases in salaries and benefits came months after Emirates gave hefty bonuses equivalent to 20 weeks’ salary to all employees earlier this year. ICA/Expat Media
