Emirates has temporarily suspended all flights to and from Dubai International Airport until at least 3pm UAE time on Monday (March 2). The suspension follows multiple regional airspace closures linked to Iranian-launched missiles and drones targeting the UAE since February 28, prompting authorities to prioritise aviation safety. Emirates said flights to and from Dubai International Airport will remain suspended until at least 3pm on Monday (March 2). Affected passengers have 10 days to rebook without penalty or request refunds. Emirates urged travellers to check flight status before heading to the airport and ensure their contact information is up to date to receive notifications. The carrier said it is in close contact with relevant authorities and apologised for inconvenience, stressing that passenger and crew safety is paramount.

UAE airlines extend flight suspensions

Other UAE carriers also extended temporary suspension of operations. Etihad Airways halted services from Zayed International Airport for flights scheduled before 2pm Monday, advising travellers to stay updated as conditions evolve. Flydubai confirmed a suspension of flights until 3pm Monday, calling it a “developing situation.” Air Arabia also paused flights, saying operations will resume once restrictions are lifted. The General Civil Aviation Authority has also suspended drone and light aircraft flights in UAE airspace to enhance safety. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are among the world’s busiest transit hubs, handling tens of thousands of passengers daily.
