Suspects, who wore masks, entered place of Pakistani tenant, stabbed him, threatened to kill a relative then stole their belongings

  DUBAI – A 23-year-old jobless Emirati man and two other persons were accused of entering breaking into a unit of a Pakistani tenant and stealing cash and gadgets. The Emirati, along with a 19-year-old Iraqi students and a Pakistani worker, were also charged with stabbing the tenant and threatening to kill his sister-in law. The incident happened in August last year. The trio, who wore masks, broke the lock of the main door of the victim's unit, went to the Pakistani's room then attacked the victim. The victim, however, managed to go to the balcony and shouted for help the suspects stabbed him from behind then pulled him back inside the room. The suspects then threatened to kill the Pakistani's sister-in-law, who was also in the unit and was awakened by the commotion. The suspects then fled with Dh5,000 in cash and three mobile phones. The suspects locked the unit's door from the outside. Shortly after, the victim's brother arrived and forcibly opened the door. The Pakistani national was then brought to a hospital because of his stab wound. Police managed to arrest the suspects one after the other and were charged with breaking into the Pakistani's place and for stealing money and gadgets. The three suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges against them when they appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Monday. Presiding judge Urfan Omar will appoint a lawyer for the suspects when it reconvenes on April 20.
