Emirati teen drowns during night swim in RAK

  DUBAI – A 17-year-old Emirati drowned in Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Rams beach on Tuesday (May 27), according to Ras Al Khaimah Police. The teen, Abdul Al Aziz Al Shehi, was swimming with relatives and friends at night when he was swept away by big waves. His death came after a five-year-old Emirati boy died in a hospital on May 25 following a 50-day battle for life after he nearly drowned in the same beach. According to Ras Al Khaimah Police, the latest victim was a Grade 9 student and was the youngest in the group who went out for a night swim. Police said rescuers were able to pull the teen out of the water and rush him to Saqer Hospital where he died after a few hours. ICA/Expat Media
